ACH Distribution Information

The Boone County Treasurer’s Office has utilized the automated clearing house (ACH) process to deliver funds to taxing districts since September 2010. ACH is the same process used for direct deposit of payroll checks, automatic bill pay programs and many other transactions. This time-tested process is a safe, secure and reliable method of delivering funds.

There are several advantages to ACH distributions, including

  • Earlier distributions – Eliminating the time-consuming process of printing, signing and stuffing checks into envelopes will result in distributions being processed a day sooner.
  • Faster receipt of funds – Mailing transit time is eliminated. Your bank receives the money the day after it is distributed.
  • Safer – No chance for checks to get stolen or lost in the mail
  • Time savings and convenience – No need for you to deliver checks to your bank for deposit. You may specify a bank account for each of your funds if desired, so that every dollar goes exactly where it belongs.

Tax districts are notified of each distribution via email. Distribution settlement sheets are posted on this web site for viewing and printing. You will be able to immediately see the amount distributed for each of your funds, address any collateral needs, and post the deposits on your books.

If you represent a taxing district and would like to take advantage of the benefits of ACH distributions, I need certain information from you. Please download and print this ACH Authorization Form and mail it to the Treasurer’s Office. Feel free to contact my office if you have any questions.
